Paying It Forward
Chef Dale Miller has always been at the forefront of helping those in need, whether mentoring young chefs or providing scholarship monies to those beginning their culinary careers.
He has also been instrumental in New York's Capital Region in fostering recognition and providing assistance in the organization and implementation of various fundraising activites:
- Co-founder of the CorCIA Food and Wine Festival which has raised over $1 million for student scholarships at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) and the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration
- Chair of the Culinary Cornucopia for Living Resources for the past 24 years, raising over $1.5 million
- Brothers Keeper Fundraising for AIDS
In addition, Chef Miller has an endowed scholarship at the CIA, which awards $5,000 to six students each year to pursue their culinary dreams.
In April 2010, he was bestowed the Bishop Hubbard Award for his outstanding charitable and philanthropic initiatives.
